Mayday, Mayday, Mayday . . .

Longtime residents of Cary will no doubt remember with trepidation the savage damage done to the Town by Hurricane Fran in 1996. The Town also suffered horrific damage in the December ice storm of 2002. The winds and flooding of Hurricane Matthew in 2016 resulted in extended road closures and a huge number of downed trees.

But those events wreaked havoc that could be repaired. The event that ----- Cary residents forever took place in June, 2024, and
